Thank you! REMEMBERING THOSE IN THE ARMED FORCES Keep our service men and women who are defending our country in your prayers. In this Sunday s Gospel, the disciples in their struggle finally recognize Jesus and proclaim It is the Lord! We are here to help those in need. Just call the rectory office at and a St. Vincent de Paul member will return your call. VIGIL CANDLES Candles have been lit recently for: William J. Smalley; Special Intention for Life; In Memory of the Elliott and Breton families, by Jim and Gerri Elliott. Ministry to the Homebound Please call the rectory office if you know someone who is unable to attend Mass but would like to receive Holy Communion. The Framingham Lions Club collects eyeglasses and hearing aids in the box located at the back of the church. The glasses provide the gift of sight to hundreds of people to cannot afford them. The hearing aids are distributed through the Lions Hearing Foundation. Thank you for your donations. PRAYER SHAWLS Do you or someone you know need God s comfort, grace or peace? Consider giving a prayer shawl from the Prayer Shawl Ministry knit or crocheted with prayers and blessed at Mass. They are a symbol of an unconditionally loving God. They comfort, enfold, give solace, beauty and warmth. Please call the rectory office at for more information. These prayer shawls are gifted from this ministry. PINE STREET INN Low Sugar Cereals such as Cheerios/ Wheaties or Shredded Wheat/Oatmeal packets (variety would be nice ) Canned Black Beans/ Canned Red Kidney Beans /Tomato Sauce /Diced Tomatoes. Donations are being delivered to Pine Street Inn on the first Monday of each month, 12 months a year. Please bring your items to the rectory breezeway before 3PM on the first Monday each month. 4 THANK YOU and GOD BLESS YOU to all the Catechists who have shared their faith, time, talents, and treasures with the children of the parish teachers, substitute teachers, hall monitors, and aides! Congratulations and God's blessings to the children who celebrated their First Communion. And a big THANK YOU and God bless you to all the folks who helped to make First Communion happen for them. Reminder: Last classes of the season for K5 are this week, Sunday, May 5 and Monday, May 6. Registration for will be offered soon. Please watch the bulletin and your mail/ for Registration days and times. Thank you! Grade 612 Youth Ministry Notes: Spring Can and Bottle Drive! The shed will be open to collect redeemable cans and bottles during in May (please wait for the snow to go away!). Bring your soda cans and bottles! Proceeds go to the St George Youth Ministry program. Please note: we collect redeemable bottlesthe ones you paid a 5 cent deposit on. Please don t bring bottles that once contained, water, juice, or tea. The redemption center doesn t take them. And as always, please, no glass! Confirmation 2019: Confirmation is May 19, 2019 at 1pm. We have a class of 20 very dedicated Confirmandi, and will be very proud to put them forward this year to be confirmed as young Catholic adults. Your attendance at the wake, Funeral, greeting me at the back of the church, Mass cards, phone calls assuring me of your prayers helped me get through two very difficult weeks. My thanks especially to Fr. Rowan for his daily compassion, care and especially concelebrating the Funeral Mass will never be forgotten. The Birthright center is staffed entirely by volunteers who offer friendship, emotional support and practical assistance to women in crisis pregnancy. Birthright does not charge for its services, but relies on donations from generous supporters to continue helping pregnant women in need. Your support is deeply appreciated. Toys, books, movies, music, clothes (in good condition), knickknacks, jewelry, small household appliances (think toaster ovens or sewing machines), and small furniture pieces are all acceptable. Please: no computer monitors or televisions, or any item over 30 lbs. Volunteers most welcome! First Communion Prayer Dear Jesus, through bread and wine at the Last Supper, and by your holy word, you gave the Eucharist to your church. You transformed common food and drink into your Body and Blood, and offered us a share in your life in ways we still cannot fully understand. Grant now that these young people will always treasure the gift they have in you. Give them the grace to be faithful to you and to remain in communion with your church. As they receive their first Communion, the Bread of Life and Cup of Salvation, make them always aware of the hope they have for eternal life in you. Amen. The Monday Morning Mass Group annual spring luncheon will take place on Monday, June 3rd at the Bella Costa Restaurant in Framingham at 12noon.
