5 5 de junio de 2022 Domingo de Pentecostés Con la Solemnidad de Pentecostés, concluye el tiempo de la Pascua. Tiempo de gozo y alegría en el Señor Resucitado. Hoy, la Iglesia entera se llena de alegría con Pentecostés. Recordemos que, el Espíritu Santo es un don dado a la Iglesia por el Resucitado. El espíritu del Señor ha llenado toda la tierra; él da unidad a todas las cosas y se hace comprender en todas las lenguas (Sabiduría 1:7). Todos quedaron llenos del Espíritu Santo y comenzaron a hablar las maravillas de aquel acontecimiento, lo sorprendente es que todos se entendían. Vaya regalo tan grande para todos nosotros, el don del Espíritu Santo! El Espíritu Santo es el don pascual por excelencia. Con la unción del Espíritu, la santidad de Jesucristo se imprime en nuestra humanidad y nos hace capaces de amar a los hermanos con el mismo amor con que Dios nos ama. Y, finalmente, el Espíritu envía. Jesús es el Enviado, lleno del Espíritu Santo del Padre. Ungidos por el mismo Espíritu, también nosotros somos enviados como mensajeros y testigos de paz. Cuánta necesidad tiene el mundo de nosotros como mensajeros de paz, como testigos de paz! (Papa Francisco). Being a registered, active and participating member of a Parish is very important especially when you need to baptize, register for religious education classes, sponsor a child for sacraments, get married, obtain letters (letters of good standing, immigration letters, sponsor letters, letters of transfer etc.) For parents who have children enrolled in Catholic Schools, in order to receive the school reduced Catholic Tuition Rate, your family needs to meet the criteria set by the Parish for being a registered, ACTIVE and participating member. The definition of a registered, active and participating member of this parish includes: being registered for the minimum of six months, attend Sunday Mass regularly as well as contributing with an envelope to our offertory along with (if possible) supporting the ministry life of our parish which is a HUGE plus. If you aren t registered, come and join our parish family by obtaining a registration form from the parish office OR if you aren't sure if you are registered, call the front office to verify. 6 The Mass: Structure and Meaning The Rite of Peace follows. The celebrant prays that the peace of Christ will fill our hearts, our families, our Church, our communities, and our world. As a sign of hope, the people extend to those around them a sign of peace, typically by shaking hands. In the Fraction Rite, the celebrant breaks the consecrated bread as the people sing the Agnus Dei or "Lamb of God." John the Baptist proclaimed Jesus as "the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world" (Jn 1:29). The action of breaking the bread recalls the actions of Jesus at the Last Supper, when he broke the bread before giving it to his disciples. One of the earliest names for the Eucharistic celebration is the breaking of the bread. Before receiving Communion, the celebrant and assembly acknowledge that we are unworthy to receive so great a gift. The celebrant receives Communion first and then the people come forward. Those who receive Communion should be prepared to receive so great a gift. They should fast (except for medicines) for one hour before receiving the Eucharist and should not be conscious of having committed serious sin. Because sharing at the Eucharistic Table is a sign of unity in the Body of Christ, only Catholics may receive Communion. To invite all present to receive Communion implies a unity which does not exist. Those who do not receive Communion still participate in this rite by praying for unity with Christ and with each other. The people approach the altar and, bowing with reverence, receive Communion. People may receive the Body of Christ either on the tongue or in the hand. The priest or other minister offers the Eucharist to each person saying, "The Body of Christ. The person receiving responds by saying, "Amen," a Hebrew word meaning, "So be it" ( Catechism of the Catholic Church, 2856). As the people receive Communion, the communion song is sung. The unity of voices echoes the unity the Eucharist brings. All may spend some time in silent prayer of thanksgiving as well. The Communion Rite ends with the Prayer after Communion which asks that the benefits of the Eucharist will remain active in our daily lives. Concluding Rites When it is necessary, announcements may be made. The celebrant then blesses the people assembled. Sometimes, the blessing is very simple. On special days, the blessing may be more extensive. In every case, the blessing always concludes "in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit." It is in the triune God and in the sign of the cross that we find our blessing. After the blessing, the deacon dismisses the people. In fact, the dismissal gives the liturgy its name. The word "Mass" comes from the Latin word, " Missa." At one time, the people were dismissed with the words " Ite, missa est," meaning "Go, you are sent. The word " Missa" comes from the word " missio," the root of the English word "mission." The liturgy does not simply come to an end. Those assembled are sent forth to bring the fruits of the Eucharist to the world.

7 La Misa: Estructura y Significado El Rito de la Paz sigue. El celebrante reza para que la paz de Cristo llene nuestros corazones, nuestras familias, nuestra Iglesia, nuestras comunidades y nuestro mundo. Como signo de esperanza, las personas extienden a quienes los rodean un signo de paz, típicamente dándose la mano. Debido a que compartir en la Mesa Eucarística es un signo de unidad en el Cuerpo de Cristo, solo los católicos pueden recibir la Comunión. Invitar a todos los presentes a comulgar implica una unidad que no existe. Aquellos que no reciben la Comunión aún participan en este rito orando por la unidad con Cristo y entre ellos. El pueblo se acerca al altar e, inclinándose con reverencia, recibe la Comunión. Las personas pueden recibir el Cuerpo de Cristo ya sea en la lengua o en la mano. El sacerdote u otro ministro ofrece la Eucaristía a cada persona diciendo: "El Cuerpo de Cristo. La persona que recibe responde diciendo: "Amén", una palabra hebrea que significa: "Así sea" (Catecismo de la Iglesia Católica, 2856).
