So we must stay awake as the gospel tell us, because we do not know the day nor the hour. How do we make sure that we will be ready when the Bridegroom comes? We do that by living our lives as though today is the day. Jesus makes it very clear what we must do. We must follow his one great commandment to love God and to love our neighbor as ourselves, and my neighbor is anyone God places in my path. We must treat all people with unselfish love. We must be kind to the other; we must give of ourselves to others; we must treat all people with generosity and humility. If we do that then when the Bridegroom comes he will invite us to join him in the wedding feast. PASTORAL STAFF Rev. Anthony and Joseph will have a Communion Service at 5:30 pm on the 4th Saturday of the month, the next Communion Service is Saturday, November 28th. This is being tried because of parishioners of Anthony and Joseph who are unable to get to Mass on Sunday morning due to work schedules or other obligations. This will be continued at least through November. Attendance at these services will determine whether they are continued past November. Volunteers are still needed for both Parishes St. John the Baptist Church still needs volunteers to clean the church after Masses. Sts. Anthony & Joseph Church still needs volunteers for ushers/greeters before Sunday Morning Mass. Please call the parish offices if you can volunteer. Thank you. Due to a conflict with another collection, the collection for Catholic Charities at John the Baptist will be taken up next weekend.

3 REFLECT AND RESPOND TO SCRIPTURE DIOCESAN APPEAL The Diocesan Appeal, previously called the Bishop s Appeal, is being run much different this year than previous years. There is no in-pew solicitation this year. All requests for donations will come directly from Albany. Some of you have probably already received a request to give to this appeal. Many of you have not because the solicitations are being sent out at various times through the end of the year. If you have received your solicitation already and responded, thank you for your contribution. To those who have not yet received the mailing, it should be out within a couple of months.
