5 A note from Father Arthur Have you ever closely prayed over the encounters between Jesus and the Disciples aer the Resurrecon compared to their interacon before the Resurrecon? There is a difference! Aer the Resurrecon Jesus greets the Disciples with, Peace be with you. This greeng must have been calming for the Disciples to hear! When the Disciples encounter Christ in today s Gospel,they are locked in an upper room because they feared the Jews. The power of Jesus s greeng cannot be overstated! In my ministry especially in my visits to anoint, give last rites, or console families due to tragedy, I do my best to always greet the individual or family with, Peace be with you. I usually see an immediate calming of those I am ministering to. The Disciples definitely needed Christ to visit and reassure them. In our mes of trouble and difficulty to hear the same words can bring us great comfort also. As the Second Sunday of Easter is designated Divine Mercy Sunday, it is important to reflect that God s greatest mercy is given to us through the Passion, Death and Resurrecon of Christ. The message of Divine Mercy is simple and taught simply by following ABC. AAsk for God s mercy, BBe merciful to others and CCompletely trust in Jesus. This is the message that was given to St. Fausna and has great value for us! May God connue to bless their good work! Peace, Fr. Arthur Una Nota del Padre Arturo Alguna vez haz meditado sobre los encuentros entre Jesús y sus discípulos antes y después de la Resurrección? Hay una gran diferencia! Después de la Resurrección, Jesús saluda a los discípulos diciendo, La paz esté con vosotros. Este saludo debe haber tranquilizado a los discípulos! Cuando los discípulos encuentran a Cristo en el Evangelio hoy, están encerrados en una sala del piso superior porque temían a los judíos. No se puede subesmar el poder del saludo de Jesús! En mi ministerio, especialmente en las visitas para ungir, dar los úlmos ritos, o consolar a las familias impactadas por una tragedia, siempre intento saludar a la persona o familia diciendo, La paz esté congo. Observo casi siempre el efecto calmante en las personas. Los discípulos definivamente necesitaban la visita de Cristo para animarles. Escuchar estas mismas palabras en nuestra época de dificultades y problemas puede confortarnos también. Porque el Segundo Domingo de Pascua ha sido designado como el Domingo de la Misericordia Divina, es importante reflexionar que la gran misericordia de Dios nos es dado mediante la Pasión, Muerte, y Resurrección de Cristo. El mensaje de la Misericordia Divina es sencillo, y puede ser enseñado ulizando siglas PSC. P Pide la misericordia de Dios, S sea misericordioso con los demás, y C cone totalmente en Jesús. Este mensaje fue dado a Santa Fausna, y ene un gran valor para nosotros. Recomiendo que visiten para más información. Amén. THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING REGISTERED! Being a registered, active and participating member of a Parish is very important especially when you need to baptize, register for religious education classes, sponsor a child for sacraments, get married, obtain letters (letters of good standing, immigration letters, sponsor letters, letters of transfer etc.) For parents who have children enrolled in Catholic Schools, in order to receive the school reduced Catholic Tuition Rate, your family needs to meet the criteria set by the Parish for being a registered, ACTIVE and participating member. The definition of a registered, active and participating member of this parish includes: being registered for the minimum of six months, attend Sunday Mass regularly (minimum of twice a month) as well as contributing with an envelope to our offertory along with (if possible) supporting the ministry life of our parish which is a HUGE plus. If you aren t registered, come and join our parish family by obtaining a registration form from the parish office OR if you aren't sure if you are registered, call the front office to verify. ES IMPORTANTE ESTAR REGISTRADO!
