Perpetual Eucharist Adoration 10 Things That Happen When You Go To Adoration #4. You get bored sometimes There are going to be times when Adoration can feel anything but glorious. You get distracted, your mind begins to wander, you can hear someone else sniffing next to you. Maybe in the beginning Adoration was full of wonderful feelings! Regular Adoration is when daily life sets in and it can make it feel not so special. But that doesn t devalue or take away from the truth of whatadorationis. Our faith is more than feelings and God will still be working in you. This is the beauty of the Incarnation God made man, coming into all our stresses, fears, problems and yes, boredom. Know that even if an hour spent in Adoration is a continual returning to Him every few minutes when your mind wanders, you are still giving God the best gift you can your time and company. What is Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration? Adoration before the Blessed Sacrament has a long tradition in the church. Over the centuries, many religious orders have had prayer chapels open day and night. The devotion of 40 Hours of Eucharistic Adoration, which started in 1534, eventually developed into Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration. In 1981, Pope John Paul initiated Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration in the Vatican Chapel and asked that all parishes in the world do the same. For more information and to select an hour to pray, please contact Marylin McDevitt at 6186549642 or marylinmcd@gmail.com The last 3 Wednesday evening Adoration and Benediction services before the church closes for renovation will be held on July 14, July 18, and August 11, at 6:30pm. Please note that Wednesday evening Adoration and Benediction services will be suspended when our church is closed for its renovation and will resume once the church is reopened. Thank you! July 8, 2021 Story Time with Stefan Dear Brothers and Sisters, I was asked to share my homily from Thursday with you, my Parish Family. I hope you enjoy. God bless! Seminarian Stefan For two days, while reading the Gospels, we have been hearing only specific facts yesterday the calling of the apostles and today specific instructions regarding the mission and proclaiming the kingdom of God. Jesus seems to be very specific in his actions; He leaves no illusions to the newly appointed apostles; He is simply a realist and knows that it will not be easy. How is today's word to be interpreted? It seems to be excellent for priests and even better for a seminarian the calling of apostles and sending forth, but.nothing could be further from the truth. The gospel is for everyone, and everyone is to be an apostle in their life. From the moment of baptism, each of us has been called by God to a specific task, to a specific mission. They are different. Some start families and are family apostles; others devote themselves entirely to the Church and choose the clergy, but each of us has a responsibility to preach the Good News with our lives! Today, unfortunately, we have a problem, and quite a big one, because how many times have we prayed for vocations and for families, and yet how many families are still destroyed and how many vocations have been wasted? In today s world, it is better not to make decisions, to live without obligations this is the new gospel of THIS world to live in the moment. Abortion and euthanasia are the result of a new distorted thinking, devoid of God. They are the result of a lack of responsibility for oneself and for others. Dear Brothers and Sisters, today's gospel is very concrete and has specific requirements. Let us not be afraid of them; let us face them boldly, let us take up the challenge that Jesus gives us, because He strengthens us every day with His word and body. Let us not be afraid to face this world and boldly proclaim the gospel to every creature. Amen. July 11, 2021 8
