Meet Parishioner Mary Jo Zacher My parents joined Holy Spirit when they moved to Fargo in 1953. All 3 brothers and I went to grades 1-8 at Holy Spirit School before beginning High School at Shanley (when it was just one block south of Holy Spirit!) My dad died in 1993, but my mom, Barb, is still a strong member of the parish. I just turned 55 years old and I've lived most of my life in North Dakota except for 21 years in Illinois. Every time I would come home to visit, entering Holy Spirit was when I really and truly felt like I was at HOME. I've been back in Fargo now for about 2.5 years and am so grateful. I am currently serving as the Director of Mission Integration and Spiritual Care at Riverview, a senior retirement village on the south end of Fargo. Besides this ministry, I also enjoy music (playing piano and guitar), spending time with my local great nieces and nephews, and I LOVE movies! One other 'hobby' I have is that I LOVE to identify Saints depicted in statues or stained glass windows... knowing how they are normally represented, BARB ZACHER etc. Prayer has always been important in my life... truly what gives my life meaning and purpose. Praying with others is a big part of my ministry, of course, but just before Lent 2020 I realized I wasn't taking as much time to just be with the Lord. Since Holy Spirit has adoration most mornings, I decided that for Lent I was going to do my best to arrive around 7:20-7:30am and stay until MARY JO ZACHER benediction at 8am. Of course, while the 'public' services in churches closed down during the pandemic, Holy Spirit still stayed unlocked and people were welcome to come in to pray privately. I did just that... and after Easter I already knew that this time with the Lord was so vital for me that I have kept it up! He has blessed me so abundantly for my faithfulness. Some days I have many distractions, but other days I know that I am held in the Lord's own heart. I also really love studying the lives of the saints and wouldn't consider missing Mass... except of course, when the pandemic prohibited it. Blessings! Submitted by Mary Jo Zacher (and mom, Barb) STEWARDSHIP OF TREASURE Weekend of March 27-28 Fiscal YTD Fiscal YTD Budget Not available due to Early Bulletin Publication Date. Our mission is to invite, form, and equip missionary disciples of Jesus Christ. CHARISMS We find fulfilment in loving others. Charisms are those special gifts given to us at Baptism to build up the Body of Christ. Here is how it works: 1. You are invited to get involved. Charisms are graces that come when we serve others. 2. The discernment begins by taking a Charism s workshop. You are taught how to see God working through you. The goal is to have each person 3. Then your ready to enjoy & can help others discern theirs.

We made our goal for the 7th year in a row of 5000 pounds of food donated! This was our best year in 11 years. Knights of Columbus national pays our Council $100.00 dollars for every 1000 pounds of food donated. We use that money along with other moneys raised for several projects. Some of these projects include Coats for Kids, Basketball Free Throw Competition, Special Olympics, Scholarships for Seminarians, and other projects. Over 6000 families are helped by these drives. A conservative wholesale cost is $1.70 to $2.20 per pound of food donated. Therefore, you helped raise well over $10,000 dollars this year to help many people. Again thanks very much from the Knights of Columbus.

N Weekly Virtue: Fortitude - St. Teresa of Avila FORTITUDE: is the Cardinal Virtue that perfects our emotions, particularly by freeing us from the grip of fear and anger. It makes us strong in the pursuit of goodness, helping us to resist temptations and overcome obstacles. Showing firmness in difficulties, being constant in the pursuit of good, staying away from gossip or participating in unjust acts are examples of living out the virtue of fortitude. This virtue aids us in everyday situations to live prudently, justly, and temperately. News from the 9th & 10th Grade Youth Disciple Group This year started with a trip to see friends in Chisago, MN, and play paintball. Shortly after that, JP joined the group and we launched an effort to setup a structure of prayer that included something like 4-5 minutes a day. JP and I both felt strongly that was the right approach to start the season. Since then we have dove into the beginning of the Bible from an animated style that depicts the steps at the heart of the Covenant between man, woman and the Creator. We usually can be found in the gym for the first portion of class which builds on the guys' drive to learn and compete. We will be looking into another activity like paintball in the future, but for now we are glad to have spent time together in Holy Spirit 101, class, and the gym. Please keep us in your prayers! Sincerely, Brian, Brady, James, Eric, Quin, and Mike and JP. - submitted by Mike Strand For more info on YD, Visit the video https://vimeo.com/420431838 PRAY IT: Dear Jesus, Alone I am weak, but with You I can do all things. Give me the grace to be strong against temptations and bold in proclaiming You and Your Church on Earth. Amen. ST. TERESA OF AVILA - St. Teresa of Avila was a woman for God, a woman of prayer, discipline, and compassion. Her heart belonged to God. Her ongoing conversion was an arduous lifelong struggle, involving ongoing purification and suffering. She was misunderstood, misjudged, and opposed in her efforts at reform. Yet she struggled on, courageous and faithful; she struggled with her own mediocrity, her illness, her opposition. And in the midst of all this she clung to God in life and in prayer.
